Beginning again- with a birthday.

I've got a lot of excuses for why I haven't blogged in weeks. Busy schedule, missing camera, projects around the house, etc. But they are just that- excuses. The truth is that somewhere along the way, I got out of practice. I didn't know where to begin again. I'm sure many of you bloggers can relate. So, tonight, while I wait for my husband to finish a run and for the storms we've expected all day to finally roll in, I am going to try. Bear with me!


Sometime around my last post, oh-so-long ago, I had a birthday. It wasn't a super busy or exciting day, but it was nice. I went out to eat with my hubby while a friend watched the girls. I had a lot of well-wishes from friends and family and many, many facebook people. And I had a list.

I always tell my husband that I don't want him to spend a lot of money on me for my birthday. This year, he finally believed me! He did get me the obligatory book (The Wisdom of Pixar- lots of fun!) but my other gift was a list of "Reasons why we love Mommy" that he shared on Facebook throughout the day. Here are some of them:

• because she took me to Disney World- Big Sis
  
• because she gave me my Dora cup- Little Sis
  
• because she takes good care of me- Big Sis
  
• because she takes good care of me, too- Little Sis
  
• because she likes to help us get along- Big Sis
• because she is nice- Little Sis
• because she let me be absent from school- Big Sis
• because she puts my diaper on- Little Sis
• because she doesn't spank me hard- Big Sis
• because she grows up flowers- Little Sis
• because she sometimes takes me on "Mommy & Me times"- Big Sis
• because she is pretty... (pause) and soft- Little Sis
• because SHE loves ME- Big Sis
• because she holds me like a baby- Little Sis
  
• because she is my momma- Big Sis
