Big Sister's Big Week!

Well, not only do we have a kindergartner in our house, but she is also now a five-year-old kindergartner!!!

This week has been a very busy one for Big Sister. Her first day of school on Thursday went wonderfully. She was ready- she went right in and barely gave us a second glance. In fact, since there were no prolonged goodbyes, the only picture we snapped was of her sitting down and getting to work:

The next day was her actual birthday, so we had cupcakes again. I have to say, even though it makes for a hectic week, there is no better way to win friends in kindergarten than to have a birthday and feed them all cupcakes and Capri Sun on the second day of school!

Nana and Papa came down for the weekend, and we all went out that evening to celebrate Big Sister. When we asked where she wanted to go, her first choice was McDonalds (Um... no. And besides, we've had that WAY more lately than I'm willing to admit on this blog) but her next choice was somewhere she could get "white spaghetti noodles" (alfredo). Big Sister had her birthday dinner at Olive Garden- she is my daughter, after all.

The next day we spent some more time with Nana & Papa, and they watched the girls so Mommy & Daddy could have kid-free time with some friends. Then Sunday was another party for family and church friends. We went to the Nature Center and hung out in the treehouse.

We had a scavenger hunt and an animal ambassador (an adorable little screech owl)...

and of course cake.

I made little fairy homes out of random edible things.

They were a little (okay, a lot) silly, but the kids seemed to like them.

The heat made them all get a little weepy, and I forgot the forks. Nice. But that didn't stop us!

I think the kids all enjoyed themselves. I had a lot of fun. But it was really, really hot.

Just look at how sweaty Big Sister was in the gift shop at the end of the afternoon!

Thanks to everyone who made Big Sister's birthday so special- those of you who withstood the heat and those of you who sent her wishes from other places. We love that so many people love our sweet girl.

PS- Sorry these pictures aren't the greatest. I still can't really edit my photos, but I still wanted to share.
