Song for Sunday: Sunrise, Sunset...

Okay, that's not really the song for the day. In fact, I can't believe I'm admitting this, but as much as I love musical theater, I've never even seen all of Fiddler on the Roof.

But today, thanks to the time change, the sun was actually waking up before I was. This makes me very happy. Once upon a time I was a morning person, and I'd like to be her again- but not in the dark! I hate the dark. Here is a lovely picture of the sunrise reflecting off of the mountains, some of which are cloaked in a beautiful morning fog:

Granted, the evenings will be getting darker much earlier, but that just helps me to get my kids in bed earlier and tells me the holidays are coming, so I can handle that. In fact, I can't remember anytime in my life when I have more fully embraced the end of Daylight Savings Time.

So here is a list of five things I love about "Falling Back"
  1. My tired trick-or-treaters (pictures forthcoming) went to bed late and were no worse for wear. They actually slept in!
  2. I woke up to a bright room and still had plenty of time to get myself & my girls ready for church.
  3. The random strobe light on the school buses will no longer make my room light up all crazyish when the neighbor kids are picked up at 7:20.
  4. Because it felt like 1:00 to her, Lydia was more than ready for her afternoon nap today and got plenty of rest before Pumpkin Patch this afternoon.
  5. Maybe I'll actually start getting up early again, to do yoga or read my Bible more. I hate to admit it, but I am a little afraid to be the first one to come down to the dark living room in the mornings.
I said this was a Song for Sunday, so here is the actual song. It's a praise chorus I sang years ago with my youth group. I had to search to find the songwriter....

From the Rising of the Sun
words & music by Paul Deming

From the rising of the sun
To the going down of the same
The name of the Lord shall be praised.

So praise ye the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord.

From the rising of the sun
To the going down of the same
The name of the Lord shall be praised.
